Prepositions are words that tell us where something is or how something is done, they are words that show the relationship between two things.
Where?
Where something is, in
relation to something else.
Examples:
The cat is on the table.
The car drove past me.
The dog jumped in the pool.
How?
How something is done.
Examples:
I gave the letter to my brother.
I stood in for my sick brother.
Time or Location?
Where something
happens or at what time it happens
Examples:
I saw you at the Pyramids.
I will meet you at 8 p.m. tomorrow.
